New Resource: 2025 Doula & Lactation Provider Managed Care Reference Guide
Supporting Doula and Lactation Providers Across New Mexico
The 2025 Doula and Lactation Provider Managed Care Reference Guide is a powerful new tool designed to support doulas and lactation professionals in navigating New Mexico’s Medicaid system. This guide simplifies the process for becoming credentialed, contracted, and reimbursed by Managed Care Organizations (MCOs), ensuring that providers can focus on delivering culturally rooted, community-based care. This first-of-its-kind resource is the result of an intentional collaboration between all four of New Mexico’s Medicaid MCOs, the Department of Health, New Mexico Doula Association, New Mexico Breastfeeding Task Force, Luminar Health and dedicated community partners. Together, we created this guide to remove barriers and expand access to doula and lactation services specially for families in rural and historically excluded communities.
By streamlining the path into Medicaid billing, this guide helps build a sustainable care workforce and strengthens our collective commitment to birth and reproductive justice across New Mexico.
